I have been a returning customer to liberty tax in Mocksville, North Carolina for going on 4 to 5 years now. Last year my tax return got audited because of the young lady who was rude then.

I was called and asked to come back and they would give me a discount on my taxes. So I made an appointment. The day that I went in to do my taxes on my appointment date and time I had to wait behind four other people sitting in front of me who were walkins. Whitney, the tax auditor began my paperwork.

Never spoke to me until she was ready to give me the total amount on what was due. This is the second time Ive had to pay both federal and state taxes. And she choose her gum and then proceeded to ask if I had any deductions and told me that they had to be close to $14,000 in order to receive money back. Or to even do the deductions.

So then I left and come back second trip and for that day. With a list of deductions and amount and receipt then she proceeds to tell me again if that was not enough for a deduction. so she turned me over to another young lady in the office to finish up my taxes. So when I left two days later, I received a phone call that they needed me to sign my tax forms.

Third trip in to sign the tax papers. I have to wait again , in the meantime, both Mary and Whitney gets up, walks into the back office and has a conversation in assuming that it is over my taxes. So when I was finally why did owned by Whitney she takes her sweet time join her doing them again, loudly and act like its no big deal of how much time shes using with somebody. I asked her who the office managers were.

She said it was between her and the other lady named Mary. I then asked for the owners name and number which she hesitated to give to me. Acting like it was a bothersome and aggravating to her to do a simple request.

I do not recommend this office again, and I do not, and I will not use this company ever again. I was also not given my discount that was promised to me from the beginning.

I stopped by your office in Surfside beach, South Carolina on March 25, 2024 to request my tax return from 2022. A woman by the name of Joanne Fowler went to find my copy.

She returned stating she could not find it telling me that I had probably picked it up previously. I told her I did not remember and she proceeded to yell at me stating you must have because we don't have it! I spent 200 dollars last year and over 400 dollars the year before at this tax office and this is the way I am treated? Well I won't be spending any more money at your company now.

This woman needs to be reprimanded at the very least and I am owed an apology. Another woman there stood up and said she would be happy to make me a copy. Her name was Donna Hawkins. I could see that she was clearly embarrassed by her co-workers rude and unprofessional behavior.

I sincerely hope someone will investigate this unfortunate incident. Sincerely Mary Elliott.

I went to Liberty Tax Services for the first time to handle my 2023 return.

The girl helping me was new and had the manager check over my return several times.

The manager that looked over everything was on a personal call the entire time I was there. Seemed very unprofessional.

I told my preparer that I had seen a coupon online and wanted to use it for this visit.

She skipped over my question and said we would get to that.

Upon leaving and receiving my copies of the paperwork, I again asked how much I owe and was not given a total.

I thought it was strange, so when I got home I reviewed all the paperwork and there was nothing stating my total for the tax preparation service.

Now, fast forward a couple weeks, I get a $17 refund from JTHF.

After doing some investigating, I figured out that Liberty took $200 from my return as their payment. (This was never explained and have nothing in writing)

I never received any invoice stating the total. And they are trying to say they gave me $411 off the total of $611.

Are you kidding me...

I only pay $138 to H&R Block every year so how can this be possible and LEGAL!

BEWARE! THEY ARE LIARS AND VERY RUDE WHEN CONFRONTED!
